An American Girl!

  I Love Fireworks!
Ever since Daddy took me to see the fireworks at Grapevine Lake I have been talking about seeing them again.  We were a little worried when the weekend of the 4th came because our weather forecast consisted of rain, rain, and more rain (thanks to a tropical storm.)
Saturday was gray and dreary but closer to the evening the rain stopped.  We enjoyed dinner at Fuzzy's Tacos and then headed out for the 4th of July Celebration at Southlake Town Square.  We found the perfect parking spot for Daddy's truck and then we ventured out for a walk around the square enjoying live music and free crafts.  Mommy even helped me make my own red, white, and blue bracelet in honor of America.  We all wore our America Shirts and were anxiously awaiting the fireworks show.  Around 9:30 the sky became dark and without warning a loud boom echoed through the city and lights filled the sky.
We laid out a cozy blanket in the back of Daddy's truck and enjoyed the show. Well let's just say that Mommy and Daddy enjoyed the show...I wanted to go home.  Needless to say we left early and beat the crowds and traffic heading for home.
Sunday was a little rain and a little sun.  Mommy and Daddy decided we would stay in for the evening and have our own show at home.  After dinner we played outside and enjoyed the cool evening (around 85 degrees in July is very uncommon for Texas.) We set up our chairs in the driveway and Daddy made us ice cream cones.  I had chocolate and as you can see, I think more got on my America shirt than made it into my mouth.
When the sky started turning dark Daddy put on a kid friendly and city limits friendly show for me and Mommy.  He had a chicken that laid eggs (the eggs were yellow and pink balloons.) He had smoke bombs (orange and pink.) and a silly frog that lit up and made some unexpected very loud noises (sorry neighbors.)
The grand finale was sparklers.
As I was getting ready for bed we heard loud noises.  It turned out that the city of Bedford (right next door) had a fireworks show and we could see if from our upstairs bedroom window.  This was perfect because no bugs and no really loud noises.
All in all I had a wonderful 4th of July.  When can we see fireworks again?
