The Great State Fair of Texas!

A few weeks ago I enjoyed my first visit to the Great State Fair of Texas.  Mommy, Daddy, and I headed out to Fair Park on a Friday afternoon and the weather was absolutely perfect!  Our first stop was a cow milking exhibit.  I learned all about milk and how it gets from the cow to my cup.  It was very eye opening.
We spent a lot of time in the auto show checking out all the new model cars.  This was one of my favorite parts of the fair.  I got to sit in the driver's seat of a lot of neat cars and "drive."  Mommy and Daddy had to drag me out of the auto show kicking and screaming.

After the auto show we ventured out to the midway.  To say the midway was exciting would be an understatement.  So many sights, sounds and smells.  Mommy and Daddy had a Fletcher's Corny Dog but I passed on one for myself.  After a brief visit with Big Tex, the mascot of the State Fair of Texas, we ventured inside to the food court to take a break, cool down, and eat more great fair food.  I had a slice of pizza and a funnel cake. How yummy.  I'm now obsessed with powdered sugar.
After our "dinner" we ventured back out to the midway.  We played a few games and I won a stuffed piggy.  I was adamant about riding a fair ride and so Mommy and Daddy agreed to let me ride the mermaid ride.  This was my first time ever on a ride and I did it all by myself (without tears.)  It did tickle my tummy quite a bit and after that one ride, I was done with rides!

We also stumbled across a big greenhouse with a lot of pretty flowers, a train, and a lot of really neat pumpkins carved with designs for Halloween.
As we ventured back down the midway we came across a country band playing music.  It was urgent that I get out of my stroller and DANCE!
As the day turned into night, we came across a light and water show to music.  It was the perfect chance to take a seat on the grass, kick off our shoes and rest after a very busy and fun-filled day.  On our way out of the fair, Mommy and I visited the baby petting zoo.  I saw baby piggies, ducks, goats, sheep, llamas, kangaroo, and giraffe.  It was the perfect ending to our day.
